Why this QR code never expires
Most QR codes that stop working were never broken. They were rented. Many generators hand you a dynamic code: the pattern holds a short link to their server, and their server forwards people to your page. When the free trial ends or a payment is missed, the forwarding stops, and every printed copy leads to an error page.
This site makes static codes. Your link, Wi-Fi details, or contact card are written directly into the pattern, and a phone reads them without asking anyone's server. There is nothing to renew and nothing that can be switched off.

How to make a QR code that never expires
- Choose what the code should openA link, a Wi-Fi network, a contact card, a Google review form, a WhatsApp chat, an email, a phone call, a text message, or plain text.
- Type your detailsThe code updates as you type. Open Customize to change the colors, margin, and error correction.
- Download it and test itSave a PNG for screens and documents or an SVG for print. Scan it with your own phone before you print a single copy.
Tips for a code that scans every time
Print it big enough
At least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for anything held in the hand. For signs, make the code about a tenth of the scanning distance: 30 cm wide for someone 3 meters away.
Keep strong contrast
A dark code on a light background scans best. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on many phone cameras.
Leave the margin alone
The blank border around the code helps cameras find it. Don't crop it off or push text right up against it.
Keep links short
Long links make dense patterns that are hard to scan when printed small. Use a clean link from your own site, and skip link shorteners, since they can expire too.
Test on two phones
Try an iPhone and an Android phone before printing a batch. It takes a minute and saves a reprint.
Use SVG for print
SVG stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a banner. Printers and designers usually ask for it.

Questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. A static QR code has no expiry date built in. It holds your content directly, so it works for as long as the thing it points to exists. If it opens a website, keep that website online and the code keeps working.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no trial, no watermark, and no limit on how many codes you make or how many times they are scanned. Personal and commercial use are both fine.
What happens to my codes if this website shuts down?
Nothing. Your codes never pass through this site, so they don't depend on it. A code made here today will scan the same way years from now.
Can I change where the code goes after I print it?
The code itself can't change, but there is an easy workaround with no subscription. Point the code at a page you control, such as yoursite.com/menu, and update that page whenever you like. The code stays the same and the content stays fresh.
Can I see how many people scanned it?
Not from the code itself, because nothing in the middle is counting. If you have a website with analytics, add a tracking tag to your link, like ?utm_source=flyer. Your own analytics will then show every visit that came from the code.
Is my information private?
Yes. The code is made in your browser. What you type, including Wi-Fi passwords, is never sent to a server or saved.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG works everywhere: documents, slides, websites, and social posts. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, so it is the better choice for flyers, banners, stickers, and packaging.
What does error correction mean?
It is how much of the code can be damaged and still scan. Medium (15%) suits most uses. Choose High (30%) for codes that may get scratched, folded, or dirty, like stickers on equipment. Higher levels make the pattern denser.
