How guests connect

A few things to know

  • Anyone who can see the code can join. For a business, put visitors on a separate guest network.
  • If you change your Wi-Fi password, make a new code. The old code still scans, it just holds the old password.
  • Network names are case sensitive. Type it exactly as it appears in your phone's Wi-Fi list.

No. The network name and password are stored inside the code, so it works for as long as your network uses them. If you change the password, make a new code.

Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?

No. The code is made in your browser and your password never leaves your device.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The built-in camera on iPhone and on most Android phones reads Wi-Fi codes and offers to join the network. Older phones can use any QR scanner app.

Which security type should I choose?

Choose WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for nearly every router from the last fifteen years. Choose WEP only for very old equipment, and No password for open networks.
